Crater Lake Part 2 – The Flight

Late arrival to the brink of starbux WiFi kept dropping from the Redwoods to upload. At some point in the margin on lost 2ish in the morning. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 until 6ish (and sleep four hours). Wind seems to be around the lake (I can hear it) will be, although I was in a protected area. Went on the north side and only confirmed that it was quite a strong wind on the lake. Went back to a more protected location and always ready aircraft, I found a loose wire. Then the air constantly resoldering way upwards again AG! Decided to try to fly down to launch a boat. Leek rose by around 9th 20 and shortly after construction. . AG, the elevator control horns! Praise be to the satisfaction of the pre-flight checks. It is too late to back up, fix the plane and get down again. Wash in Cold Lake, but felt better for him then. The place to crawl (with people who start in). Supported by 10ish and inspected the damage. Finally I decided the best (or most reliable) Fix is only the control rod includes two notches up. Elevator determine that it would make them more sensitive, but it should be reliable. Kipped in the car until 1ish, then the lake, but still moving very tired. Found an alternative way to trees and kipped down there for a few hours (until 3ish). to work at the station stopped Rangers, which position the forest fires in the north (no problem) and attempts to hitchhike with a geologist. She pointed me to . . .

Wow. I visited Crater Lake in August of ‘69 at age 16 while on a road trip from the east coast with 5 buddies. I thought then, that it was the most beautiful place on the planet and in the past forty years that opinion hasn’t changed. Why I haven’t thought to look for YT vid of it, I don’t know. I’ve done some RC plane mounted vids myself, so your ballsy flight was amazing to see. Five stars. Think I’ll go dig up my 8mm movie of Crater Lake…

Why don’t you fly it looking at the airplane’s video display? Then you wouldn’t have to worry about keeping it in view.

Good vid. Been to crater lake twice in the winter and summer. I’m not to sure if the 20 feet of snow or the 75 degree summer days(I live in Texas) are more fun. It’s an awesome site to see though.

What’s the payload on those little planes? It would be epic if you could strap a camera with a little bit better quality to it.
