The laptop is wireless. Install the printer on the laptop, which shows this clearly. I leave the main computer and then press print on the laptop. It comes with an error message. The laptop is Vista, the main computer with XP. I do not want to use wires, and the printer is not connected to the router via an Ethernet cable. Is there a way to do what I’m trying to do or make Vista and XP conflict?

I connected a Linksys router with a desktop computer via an Ethernet cable and my laptop to connect to the router wirelessly. I’m trying to figure out how to set it so that I use the printer to my laptop via the desktop. I know you have to build a network, found on the desktop and connect it via laptop, but I can not. I have an eMachines computer and a Toshiba laptop concept.
